Moot Court
Moot Court is an outstanding opportunity that trains students to simulate argumentation before the Supreme Court. Students gain tremendous knowledge about Constitutional law, judicial precedent, and legal argumentation.

Although Moot Court is no longer hosted by NCFCA, Lux Debate Club continues to participate in this event through the new Highschool Moot Court Association (HSMCA). Moot Court is an outstanding activity in which students have a wonderful opportunity to learn principles of Constitutional law by arguing both sides of a fictional but realistic moot court case in a simulated court setting.

All Moot Court competitions prior to the National Championship are done online, which allows for some practicing attorneys to volunteer to judge in some of these events. It is a fantastic activity.

In the 2025-2026 academic year, students will be studying, in-depth, 1) the Article II executive power vs. the legislative prerogative to enact removal protections and 2) the power of the district court to impose injunctions on the President. [Last year, students studied the First and Fourth Amendments to the Constitution.]
